In addition to running, I have a variety of interests and hobbies.
I love roller coasters! The steeper, faster, and higher they are, the more likely I will ride them. My all time favorite roller coaster is The Voyage, a super intense hybrid coaster at Holiday World located in Santa Claus, Indiana. This amusement park contains some of the best coasters on earth, for real! When I visit my monastic community of Saint Meinrad during the autumn, I usually add a day so that I can visit Holiday World only 10 miles away. I can only ride this coaster a maximum 3 times I found out during my visit in 2024. The intensity is that strong! The triple-down track in a dark tunnel after the midpoint brake is one of the craziest things on a coaster. The speed just goes bonkers after that! Check out the video POV:
My second favorite coaster is The Beast located at Kings Island near Cincinnati, OH.
The craziest coaster I rode was Sheikra located at Busch Gardens Tampa, FL. This coaster is a dive coaster, which means that not one, but two(!) drops are straight-down at 90-degrees. When I rode it, I sat on the front row at the very end so that I can get a full experience of the first drop, much like this video (notice the wiggling feet in the video…I did the same thing!):
